seasonal inspirations

As you may have noticed, I am not writing in this little space as much as I used to. The reason is my return to studying and all the work that comes with it. My time is now split into lessons and personal work on my dissertation, and I’m loving it! I am hoping to get into a routine that would also allow me some free time to write in this blog and in that one too.

So now let’s blog! I really wanted to share with you a list of things that inspire me in this lovely season. As I already mentioned here, autumn is my favourite time of the year for many reasons, one of which is because it offers the perfect excuse to stay home and cosy up. Or on the contrary, it is also a great time to enjoy the great outdoor and to marvel at the leaves changing their little green coats for some more flamboyant ones. So beautiful! Let me now show you my seasonal inspiration list, do not hesitate to add ideas in the comments!

- Turn our apartment into a cosy nest where we can relax. Add little (and big!) accessories to warm up the overall décor such as scented candles, fluffy cushions and soft blankets. I really want to get a chunky knit blanket, some soft faux fur cushions and this candle that’s meant to smell like cake and autumn.

- Spend a rainy afternoon at home, chilling on the sofa and reading magazines or a good book. Sit next to the window and listen to the song of raindrops against my window. Drink a hot beverage and wrap myself in a soft blanket. Take time to relax. Add fairy lights to this and I’m the happiest girl in Paris! (I’ve got those and I love them!).

- Or on the contrary, embrace the season and go out to enjoy the outdoors before it’s too cold to do so. Have a nice walk in a park, or better, in a forest. Listen to the leaves breaking under your boots, admire the pretty colours of autumn, breathe. Or even go to an apple picking patch or a pumpkin patch. How fun!

- Hot tasty drinks: hot chocolate, hot cider and the likes. Talking of which, I’d really like to spend an afternoon at the Louvre and then go to Angelina to get one of their famous hot chocolates. Oh and I almost forgot! Drink Pumpkin Spice Lattes, of course! You can also make them yourself with this PSL syrup recipe.

- Have fun creating pretty fall outfits. Autumn enables us to accumulate layers without necessarily having to hide it all out under a big coat. It’s the perfect time for all the fashionistas out there! As for myself, I feel like getting foxy tights, a tweed jacket and cosy jumpers like this one and thisone. Add to this a cute pair of brown boots and a plaid scarf and you’re ready to go!

- It’s also the season of cosy socks! And it’s even better when they’re pretty :)

- Try some new seasonal recipes: soups, pumpkin waffles, cinnamon syrup for your hot drinks or even gluten-free orange and chocolate muffins. Yum!

- Spend a rainy day crafting pretty things for your home, such as this cute garland or this very Harry Potter-esque mobile.

And that’s it for the ideas! In addition to this list, here are two links to:

  1. What lovely inspirations! I love Autumn - so many beautiful colours around! Looking forward to seeing you soon! :) xxx

Bisous
